Get ready for your favourite spring insects!

This event focuses entirely on native butterflies. Which butterflies are found in Austria? What are their characteristics? How can you recognize the majopr groups, and how can you actively participate in butterfly conservation? This afternoon, organized in cooperation with the Austrian Society for Butterfly Conservation, is dedicated to these fluttering, colorful insects.

The program includes a fascinating introductory lecture on butterflies, live microscopy demonstrations on the LED wall, and an identification workshop for all ages. Sabine Gaal-Haszler, NHM researcher and curator, will provide insights into the butterfly collection at the NHM Vienna. The afternoon will conclude with a quiz.
